The (very heavy) candle holder is made of highly polished steel and is the first design made by renowned, international award-winner Mikaela Dörfel for Menu.

About the Designer
Mikaela Dörfel, who studied design and currently resides in Hamburg, was born and raised in Finland and was strongly influenced by the Scandinavian design tradition represented by Menu.

For her first assignment for Menu, Mikaela Dörfel found her inspiration in dance and movement. She has created a pair of tall, elegantly curved candle holders that take hold of one another in a dance-like embrace. This is what Dörfel has to say about her new design: “The body’s straight, robust forms and the slim lines of the arm express a simple elegance. A combination of the masculine and feminine tat are united in a harmonious balance when the candle sticks are set close together”.
